Letter to Parents
Membership in Kappa Delta is guaranteed to be a growing experience for your daughter. As Kappa Delta’s, we take pride in our sisterhood, academics, leadership, social success, and philanthropy.
In accepting her invitation to join Kappa Delta, your daughter has forever changed her life. From now on, she has a group of sisters to live with, laugh with and cry with — friends who'll support her and stand by her today, tomorrow and throughout the years. Your daughter has been selected to start the KD chapter on her campus on behalf of Kappa Deltas throughout the world. She is someone who will share Kappa Delta's ideals and principles — honor, truth, duty — and contribute toward building and maintaining our sisterhood for the future.
The The Zeta Zeta chapter holds a tradition of academic excellence here on our campus. We have received top grades among the Panhellenic sororities on our campus for the past 8 academic quarters. We also implement an academic excellence program each quarter to ensure that our members are making academics a priority.
We elect leaders in our sorority annually as chapter officers who receive guidance and advising from local alumnae that volunteer their time as the chapter advisory board. Our officers report regularly to our national headquarters. We also encourage our members to take on appointed leadership positions within chapter in addition to other leadership positions campus wide.
We encourage our members take advantage of the social aspect Kappa Delta gives us. We participate in socials with various fraternities, sororities, and other on campus clubs and organizations. We believe that this can help our members understand the importance of networking and use it to their advantage.
Kappa Delta’s nation wide exercise the importance of philanthropy. We expect all members to stay involved with our local and national charitable efforts. Our chapter takes pride in our annual Shamrock 5K race in which we host to raise money for Prevent Child Abuse America. This past year we were able to donate over $21,000 to the cause.
Overall, Kappa Delta members are encouraged to put their best foot forward and represent our organization in a positive way that will be in keeping with our standards. Our open motto sums this up in saying, "let us strive for that which is honorable, beautiful and highest".
